LUKE AIR FORCE BASE , Ariz. (AFPN) -- A single-seat F-16C aircraft from here crashed today at about 8:40 a.m. PST.
The pilot ejected safely and was transported to the base hospital for an examination and appears to be in good condition.
The crash occurred 22 miles southwest of the base near I-10 and 339th Ave. during a surface-attack training mission.
The F-16 aircraft had practice training munitions on board at the time of the crash.
A board of officers will investigate the accident.
